gIR _i shall be obliged, if you will kindly insert the following in your esteemed Journal, if you think it will interest your readers. I was called to see a case of serpent bite to a village about 14 miles away. I reached the place at 2 p.m., and on inquiry I learnt that the man was bitten by a snake in the early morning of the previous day at 5 a.m., i-s,, thiity-three hours before I first saw him. He had two fang marks, black and half an inch apart on the left thumb, which was only slightly swollen He was sleeping on a cot on a verandah and one of his hands was thrown over his head, just touching a wall. Thp offender had evidently climbed along the wall and bit the man on the right thumb. This disturbed him from his sleep, inrl as soon as he knew that he was bitten by a snake and that ? was trying to coil round his hand he threw his arm forward and by so doing the snake unfortunately fell on the body of his servant, who was sleeping on the ground. The servant at once got up, but in the bustle did not realise that he was bitten by the snake till 11 A.M. the same morning when he and his master began to develop symptoms.
